GHANA JOBS AND SKILLS PROJECT (GJASP)-BAC

The Government of Ghana with a support from the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) and the Suame Business Advisory Center (BAC) organized formulation and implementation of youth support program in the municipality.

This project was organized in three stages of Basic, Intermediate and Advanced level. Beneficiaries were presented a certificate at each level and Advance participants are yet to receive a start-up grant.

The framework of national policy of Ghana Jobs and skills project was sponsored by World Bank.

The department also encourages and reports on implementation of policies and matters relating to local economic development projects.

MASS SENSITIZATION ON GKMA BIODIGESTER TOILET FOR HOUSEHOLD AT KRONUM ABUOHIA.

On the morning of 5th July 2023, the team embarked on a mass sensitization campaign for the implementation of the GKMA biodigester toilet for households in the Kronum Abuohia community. To maximize our impact, the team divided into groups, with some members focusing on sensitizing the residents of Afrancho community. The primary goal was to create awareness and encourage the adoption of the GKMA biodigester toilet, with the aim of ensuring that all houses in the area benefit from this innovative project.

In Afrancho community, the team members engaged in an intensive sensitization program to educate the residents about the benefits of the GKMA biodigester toilet.

Team members actively interacted with community members, explaining the features, functioning, and advantages of the biodigester toilet system. To augment our efforts, the project car made regular announcements throughout the sensitization campaign. These announcements served to grab attention and disseminated key information about the GKMA biodigester toilet project.

We are pleased to report that our mass sensitization campaign generated a positive response from the community in Kronum Abuohia. The residents showed a keen interest in the GKMA biodigester toilet, recognizing its potential to improve sanitation, reduce environmental pollution, and provide a sustainable energy source. Many community members appreciated the system’s affordability and its ability to address their sanitation needs effectively.

By focusing on Afrancho community and utilizing the project car announcements, we successfully educated and created awareness about the benefits of the biodigester toilet system. On the morning of 4th July 2023, the team embarked on a mass sensitization campaign for the implementation of the GKMA biodigester toilet for households in the Maakro community. Dividing ourselves, some team members focused on educating the residents of Maakro market, while the rest engaged with the community residents directly. The primary objective was to create awareness and encourage the adoption of the GKMA biodigester toilet, aiming to ensure that every household in the area benefits from this innovative project.

Project car announcements were made continuously, providing basic information about the GKMA biodigester toilet and its benefits to the market-goers. Team members were actively engaged in one-on-one discussions, explaining the functioning of the biodigester toilet, its cost-effectiveness, and environmental advantages.

Simultaneously, in the Maakro community, the team members visited households to personally educate and sensitize the residents about the GKMA biodigester toilet project.

We are delighted to report that the mass sensitization campaign yielded encouraging results, with a significant portion of the community expressing interest in the GKMA biodigester toilet. The response was overwhelmingly positive, as the residents recognized the potential benefits of this sustainable sanitation solution. Many households were particularly intrigued by the potential cost savings, improved hygiene, and reduced environmental impact offered by the biodigester toilet.

On 5th June 2023, our team conducted a mass sensitization campaign for the implementation of the GKMA biodigester toilet for households in the Suame Kropo community. To cover a wider area, we

divided into groups, with some members focusing on sensitizing the residents of the Kropo community. The main objective was to create awareness and encourage the adoption of the GKMA biodigester toilet, with the goal of ensuring that every household in the region benefits from this innovative project.

In the Kropo community, our team members embarked on an extensive sensitization program. Our team engaged in direct conversations with community members, providing detailed explanations of the GKMA biodigester toilet system, its functionality, and the numerous advantages it offers.

To maximize our outreach, the project car played a vital role in making announcements throughout the sensitization campaign. These announcements served to capture the attention of the community and disseminate crucial information about the GKMA biodigester toilet project. They highlighted the features, benefits, and cost-effectiveness of the system, drawing the interest of the community members.
