GENDER BASED VIOLENCE AND IT EFFECTS.

Two (2) days sensitization exercise at Abusuakruwa residential area on Gender Based Violence and it Effects by the Social Welfare and Community Development (SWCD) of Suame Municipal Assembly (SMA). Officers explained domestic violence as an abusive behaviour in any relationship that is used to gain power and control over the other partner such as slapping, hitting, coercing and undermining individual sense of self-esteem.

At the end of the sensitization, thirty-two (32) houses were visited, ninety-three (93) residents were sensitized, of which fifty-eight (58) of them were females whiles the remaining thirty-five (35) were males.
