REDEVELOPMENT OF OLD SUAME MARKET INTO ULTRA – MODERN MARKET STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT.
Stakeholders engagement on the preparation of Abbreviated Resettlement Action Plan (ARAP) held on Wednesday 13th September,2023 at Suame Municipal Assemble Conference hall.
Suame Municipal Assembly has secured funding from World Bank under Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme and intends to use part of the funds to redevelop Old Suame Market into Ultra-Modern Market.
As part of the programme implementation a consultant has been engaged to support the Assembly to prepare an Abbreviated Resettlement Action Plan based on World Bank Involuntary Resettlement Policy.
Mr. George Awudi the ARAP consultant met the key stakeholders of the project namely the Safeguards Team of Suame Municipal Assembly, Chiefs of the Project Area, Assembly Members of the Project Area, Project Affected Persons to discuss on the ways to relocate the occupants of the said land. This was to pave way for the occupants to relocate to enable construction work to commence.
