Restructuring Existing Markets

The Suame Municipal Assembly (SMA), has put in place measures towards restructuring the existing markets in the area.

The markets , which will be affected include Kropo market, Old Suame Market and Anomangye market.

The Chief Executive Officer for the municipality, Dr John Osei Bobbie Boahen, made these known when the Suame Constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) paid him a courtesy call at his office .

According to him, the various markets will be provided with vehicular parking areas to facilitate activities of the traders.

He disclosed that the assembly will ensure discipline on the roads to reduce vehicular traffic on the road.

According to him, the assembly will introduce what he called as “park and pay” from old Suame Mathias junction to Maakro.

This, he said will guarantee discipline on the roads as well as providing avenue to generate revenue for the assembly.

Dr Bobbie Boahen said the assembly is putting in place mechanisms to keep data on the number of houses and artisans in the municipality.

According to him, such data will help the assembly to plan effectively towards initiating developmental projects .

Dr Bobbie Boahen therefore called on the party executives to cooperate with the assembly in its developmental plans.
