NATIONAL SANITATION DAY

The Municipal Co-Ordinating director Mr. Nborinyi Ndinga and the Municipal Finance Officer supervised National Sanitation Day, clean up exercise at Suame Market through to Suame Mathias Junction. Staffs, some Assembly members of the municipal assembly and the fire service joined the cleaned up.

 

NUTRITION PRACTICE TRAINING FOR CATERERS AND HEADCOOKS, 2026

The Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP) national secretariat organized a training program for all school feeding caterers across the country on Friday 20th February 2026.

This all-important training was attended by six municipals in Ashanti region namely kwadaso, tafo, asokwa, Asokore Mampong, Suame, Oforikrom and KMA. Suame was represented by all the 43 caterers from all the 23 beneficial schools within the Suame municipal assembly. The program was attended by National Coordinator Hajia Fati Forgor, Ashanti regional Coordinator Hon. Gloria Ahuze and the Suame constituency Coordinator Miss Bawu Bello. Also in attendance were the Suame desk officer and his Assistant, the SHEP Coordinator and the municipal MIS officer.

 

SUAME MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL PRESENTS DAY OF LOVE AND HEALTH SCREENING

A free health screening exercise was successfully organized on Friday 13th February 2026, with the aim of promoting preventive healthcare and improving community awareness on common medical conditions. Essential services including blood pressure checks, blood glucose testing, body mass index assessment, pelvic scans for men and women (pregnant women, fibroids, myoma etc.) Eye, Dental and ENT screening, NHIS Card renewals, replacement and general medical consultations.

The program attracted a significant number of community members, particularly the elderly and vulnerable groups, who benefited from early detection, health education, and professional medical advice. The exercise highlighted the critical role of accessible, community-based interventions in improving overall public health outcomes and reducing preventable diseases.

In addition to the screening exercise, the event marked the official adoption of the Male Ward by Elder Dr. Nana K. Gyasi (Ekuoba Simprimum), a renowned business mogul and philanthropist. Through this adoption, Nana K. Gyasi pledged financial and logistical support toward the renovation, equipment provision, and overall improvement of patient care services within the ward. This commitment is expected to enhance healthcare delivery, improve patient comfort, and strengthen institutional capacity.

A donation of a refrigerator for drugs and one computer was received from the Member of Parliament, Lawyer John Darko to enhance drug storage and documentation at the hospital’s Public Health Unit.

The combined efforts of the Hospital Management, Suame Municipal Assembly, Municipal Health Directorate, Member of Parliament – Suame and Elder Dr. Nana K. Gyasi for the free health screening, donation and ward adoption demonstrate a strong model of public-private partnership aimed at advancing sustainable healthcare development.

SOD CUTTING CEREMONY.

On the 12th February,2026 the Hon Municipal Chief Executive, Frank Owusu Ansah, assisted by Nananom and Hon. Assembly members of the Suame Municipal Assembly has cut sod to commerce the construction of four separate development projects across the municipality.

The Hon Municipal Chief Executive of Suame municipality expressed his appreciation to his Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana for fulfilling his campaign pledge to augment development projects in the municipality.

The MCE stated that, the government will make sure that the living standard of resident in the municipality is improved through the provision of critical infrastructure and developmental projects; he therefore thanked Nananom for releasing land for the projects. He appealed to the residents to own the project when it is completed and to take good care of it since they are the ultimate beneficiaries of the project.

He admonished the constructors to complete the project within the stipulated time and to be mindful of construct specification.

Nananom present at the ceremony expressed delight on the projects. They, on behalf of their subjects appealed to the MCE, to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the president for the projects.

The Municipal Co-Ordinator, Director Mr. Nborinyi Ndinga disclosed that, the Assembly has received 80% of its common fund allocation and assured residents in the Municipality, that more developmental Projects will be rolled out across the municipality; He appealed to the contractors to be mindful of standardization and work specification, since critical eyes will be focused on their work, he concluded.

The contractors assured the Hon Municipal Chief Executive and residents in the Municipality, that they will complete their work within the scheduled time and rigorously abide by contract specifications. They however appealed to project affected persons that their concerns will be catered for.

LIST OF PROJECTS

The Projects that will be executed under the sod cutting phase

  1. Construction of 2No. Health center at Abuohia
  2. Construction of 2No. Health center at Nkontwima
  3. Construction of 6-unit and 2-unit classroom Block with 11 seated toilet facility for Kwapra Primary and Kindergarten school at Kwapra.
  4. Construction of 20No. Mechanized boreholes within the Suame Municipality.

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive aided by the electoral Area Assembly members and flanked by Nananom handed over the project site to the various contractor amidst cheers and jubilation.
