Following Government\u2019s decision to scale down the celebration of the 68th<\/sup> Independence anniversary, the Suame Municipal Assembly<\/strong> commemorated the 68th<\/sup> Independence Anniversary Celebration at the Conference Hall of the Suame Municipal Assembly,<\/strong> on 6th<\/sup> March, 2025 on the theme \u201creflect, review<\/strong> and<\/strong> reset\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The occasion was graced by Nananom, Hon. Assembly Members, Heads of Department and Unit Heads of Suame Municipal Assembly, Religious Leaders, Leadership of the two (2) major political parties, Pupils from four (4) selected Basic Schools in the Municipality namely Anomangye M\/A Basic, Royal Crescent Educational Complex, Kronum M\/A JHS \u201cA\u201d and Andrews Adventist Prep\/JHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening prayers was delivered by Rev. Michael Gyekye-Mensah, the Reverend Minister of Grace Congregation Presbyterian Church, New Suame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebration included a variety of engaging activities. These activities fostered a sense of national pride and show cased the talents of the young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was chaired by Nana Adu Ansere Bekoe II, Suame Dikro and moderated by Mr. Daniel Dzokoto, the Senior Human Resource Manager of Suame Municipal Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The keynote address was delivered by the Municipal Co-ordinating Director who doubles as the acting Municipal Chief Executive. He urged all to take a retrospection view of how the country has come and take constructive measures to project the country to where we all aspire it to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A debate competition was held between Anomangye M\/A Basic School <\/strong>and Royal Crescent Educational Complex<\/strong> on the motion. \u201cA ban on corporal punishment in schools has affected the social values in Ghana<\/strong>\u201d. Anomangye M\/A was for the motion whilst Royal Crescent Educational Complex spoke against the motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event encouraged critical thinking and public speaking skills among the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the keenly contested debate, Anomangye M\/A emerged winners with 82% and Royal Crescent Educational Complex garnered 73%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poetry recitals formed another key part of the celebration. This added a cultural and artistic dimension to the event showcasing our culture. The poem was performed by Miss. Tricia Owusu, a final year pupil of Kronum M\/A JHS \u201cA\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebration featured patriotic songs, which enhanced the atmosphere of national pride. The songs performed included \u201cYen Ara Ya Asaase Ni\u201d among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
