The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) has the oversight responsibility for the establishment of all such Departments.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>VISION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Statistics Department <strong>aspires<\/strong> to provide reliable and responsive statistical services for good governance and development.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>MISSION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>To harness, produce and manage quality local level statistics based on national standards using competent staff for evidence-based decision making in support of local and national development. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>OBJECTIVES OF THE STATISTICS DEPARTMENT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhance the use of statistics for evidence-based decision making.<\/li>\n<li>Harmonize concepts, methods, and classifications used in the production of statistics at all levels.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Suame Municipal Assembly to mobilize revenue for development.<\/li>\n<li>Systematize the collation of administrative data across sectors and geographical units.<\/li>\n<li>Reinforce the coordination of statistics generation, compilation, analysis, storage, archiving and dissemination across departments within the Municipality.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen capacity of\u00a0 statistical staff at the Assembly level.<\/li>\n<li>Engender statistical literacy among stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STATISTICS DEPARTMENT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The general functions and responsibilities of the Statistics Department of Suame Municipal Assembly are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To collect, compile, store and analyze data based on <em>standardized formats <\/em>developed by Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).<\/li>\n<li>Disseminate and publish statistical data based on <em>guidelines <\/em>developed by GSS.<\/li>\n<li>To ensure that statistics is produced to meet international standards.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit <em>Annual Report <\/em>of its operations to the Municipal Assembly.<\/li>\n<li>Provide inputs for the preparation of the Municipal Assembly&#8217;s budget.<\/li>\n<li>Generate the data requirements of the Suame Municipal Assembly on all departments for planning activities of the Assembly.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate statistical activities in the municipality and archiving of statistics to serve as a repository of statistical data in the Municipality.<\/li>\n<li>Provide timely data for incorporation into municipal, regional and national level statistical analyses.<\/li>\n<li>Promote Statistical Literacy and Research.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor statistical enquiries\/surveys within the Municipality.<\/li>\n<li>Advise the Suame Municipal Assembly on all matters relating to
